Renowned writers will pair with Ithaca College students to present poetry, fiction, and music of celebration, in their personal definitions of the act of celebrating. For some, celebration may be the joy of winning, for some it may be the gratitude of survival, and for some it may be the power of freedom. No matter the definition, the celebration will prove harmonious. This event will be moderated by A. Van Jordan, Robert Hayden Collegiate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Michigan, and will feature the work of five writers: Julia Alvarez, Michael Collier, Mitchell S. Jackson, Akhil Sharma, and Crystal Williams.
