Get ready to clap and sing along with the Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble! This free one-hour concert will be an enjoyable way for all kids of all ages to learn about this great American music. The performance will be on Saturday September 20th, 2014 at 10AM in the beautiful, newly-refurbished Ford Hall in the Whalen Center for Music at Ithaca College. Parents with small children are encouraged to come and stay for the show, even if their kids make noise. After all, making a joyful noise is what jazz is all about!
Inspired by the children's jazz concerts done by Leonard Bernstein and Wynton Marsalis, the Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble will play, sing, demonstrate instruments — basically anything and everything to help answer the question "What is jazz?"
The interactive concert will be held on Saturday morning, September 20th at 10AM in Ford Hall, on the 4th floor of the Whalen Center for Music on the Ithaca College campus. Ample free parking is available in the "J" lot by the towers. The performers will be available in the lobby after the concert for kids to ask any questions about their instruments or the music.
