The 14 Strings! Cornell Filipino Rondalla would like to invite you to our spring/benefit concert entitled "O Musika!" Storm Surge of the Heart:Unity in Strings. 14 Strings! Cornell Filipino Rondalla will dedicate their musical performance to Haiyan survivors.
Typhoon Haiyan was arguably the strongest in history to make landfall. Five months has passed since Haiyan devastated the island nation of the Philippines, but Filipino survivors, including 5 million children, are still in dire need of support for rehabilitation. Proceeds of the concert will benefit the rebuilding and reconstruction efforts in town of Estancia, Iloilo province, one of the hardest-hit areas during the storm.
14 Strings! Cornell Filipino Rondalla is a string ensemble that showcases Philippine native 14-stringed instruments most of which were crafted here in Ithaca by Cliff Scherer.
