Professor Filiz Garip (Cornell Unversity) will discuss findings from her recently published book On the Move: Changing Mechanisms of Mexico-U.S. Migration (Princeton University Press). Dr. Garip’s path-breaking studies on immigration consider the how resources and social policies shape the immigrant experience.
Dr. Garip received the Harold W. Dodds Honorific Fellowship at Princeton and was a member of the Woodrow Wilson Society of Fellows. At Harvard, she received the George Kahrl Excellence in Teaching Award. She serves as a consulting editor for the American Journal of Sociology and Sociological Science.
