The BOLD Leadership Scholars Present: Journey to Leadership as a Student of Color at a PWI (LDW)
As students of color at persistently/predominately white institution, over time one becomes discouraged and displeased with the campus environment that was set up - as most American systems - to cater to the white cultural diaspora. In other words, it was set up in a way that would benefit our white peers more. Being a women-identifying student provides an added later of challenges when facing spaces that aren't designed for your voice. As seniors at Ithaca College, the BOLD 2.0 cohort hopes that by sharing our lived-experiences and stories about how we rose to leadership, we can inspire women-identifying students, and especially those of diverse backgrounds, to become the leaders and change-makers that our campus is in desperate need of. Presented by Kelly Madden, BOLD Scholar.
