Join us for an evening of compelling vocal and piano works, featuring Dr. Rachel Schutz, soprano, and Dr. Andrea Christie, piano as they  explore the intersections of poetic and musical art forms and their influence on one another. 

 

Dr. Andrea Christie, is a versatile Canadian pianist, brings her passion for both late-romantic and contemporary works to this program. A member of the Parhelion Trio, her career spans prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík. Dr. Christie is also an educator, serving as Lecturer at Rutgers University and Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University.

 

Dr. Rachel Schutz, Welsh-American soprano, brings her deep commitment to both voice teaching and performing, with performances spanning the U.S., Europe, and Asia. She has appeared at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Ravinia Festival, and currently  serves as a faculty member at Ithaca College.y. As a voice teacher, Dr. Schutz is committed to fostering both healthy technique and artistic maturity, whether that be in a masterclass setting or over longer stretches of time in the private studio. She is also a deep believer in the need to prepare students appropriately for a 21st century career in music.
