About this Event
This presentation will discuss how to leverage an on-campus job when building a skill set for a career path. The presenters will discuss how to turn an on-campus job experience into a transferable skill set when being interviewed by a prospective employer. You will learn ways that the library utilizes student assistants, student technicians, and student managers to deliver library services and provide experiential learning opportunities at the same time. An IC Alum and former library student manager will share their experience of being hired as a student assistant, then promoted to student manager, and finally hired as a full-time staff member as a supervisor of student employees. What was the transition like from student assistant to full-time staff supervisor?
