About this Event
The Ithaca College Jazz Repertory ensemble is directed by Bill Tiberio. The group focuses on core big band repertoire, primarily studying music of the great jazz writers such as Duke Ellington, Sammy Nestico, and Oliver Nelson. The group performs in Ford Hall at the end of each semester. Similarly, The Jazz Lab Band is directed by Bill Tiberio. The group gives music students the opportunity to develop and hone their jazz skills playing in a supportive, positive big band setting. The ensemble performs a blend of repertoire from the traditional giants to many of the current leading writers of jazz ensemble music.
The two bands will be performing diverse sets of music from all around the jazz genre, and a special feature of this concert will be the performance of a student arrangement and a student composition.
