Kebra-Seyoun Charles is a double bassist, composer, and musician whose immense talent and versatility have placed them in performances alongside some of the most respected names in music including Jon Batiste, Tyshawn Sorey, and others. Kebra-Seyoun is currently pursuing a Master in Music degree at The Juilliard School after obtaining their Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
In addition to their solo career, Kebra-Seyoun Charles plays in ensemble groups like East Coast Chamber Orchestra, A Far Cry, Palaver Strings, and the Sphinx Virousi. Their performances have taken them across the world, from their feature in the "Slugs' Saloon" installation by composer Jason Moran at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston to Vienna's Mozarteum, Berlin's Kobzerthaus, and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw.
They are a two-time winner of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra's concerto competition, the winner of NAACP's ACT-SO concerto competition, and have been featured by Performance Today, Young Arts, and From the Top.
