Living with Empathy: How an Empathetic Nature Can Improve Your Leadership (Leading Self)

In a world of constant change and insurmountable stress in the lives of many college students and young adults, oftentimes empathy is viewed as "taboo" or highly uncommon. This workshop, presented by Connor Watson '23 as part of the Emotional Leadership Toolbox series, will address empathy in a way that shows attendees its true power in developing relationships with individuals from differing backgrounds, while also allowing individuals to lead and "show up" as their whole beings. In this workshop, we'll also discuss the differences between empathy and sympathy, and how empathy can truly be a valuable asset in the Leadership Toolbox. The Emotional Leadership Toolbox series does not require that one attends all of the SLIs. Please feel free to come to just one or all four or any combination; if you are unable to attend one of the sessions but would still like the content, please contact the SLI team to reach out to the presenter.
