DESCRIPTION:Following the Intercultural Career Connection Panel (ICCP) from
  12 PM - 1 PM\, join us for snacks and networking with the panel participa
 nts at 1 PM. \n\n \n\nFirst time attending a networking event? Feeling a l
 ittle nervous and don't know how to start a conversation? No worries! We w
 ill provide you with sample questions to help get your discussions going. 
 Networking take practice\, and remember\, these alumni were in the same po
 sition as you when they were IC students! They understand we all have diff
 erent levels of comfort and experience. \n\n \n\nThis event is a collabora
 tion between the Center for Career Exploration and Development (formerly t
 he Office of Career Services)\, the Center for IDEAS\, and the Office of A
 ccess\, Opportunity\, and Achievement.\n\n \n\nAlumni participants include
 :\n\nOlivia (Via) Carpenter '22\n\nVia is a 2022 business graduate from It
 haca College. She started her baking journey early in my life\, but began 
 her current cookie business\, Via's Cookies\, in 2020. Via makes delicious
  regular\, gluten free and vegan cookies and donates a percentage of her p
 rofits to struggling BIPoC (Black\, Indigenous\, people of color) and LGBT

 m or Instagram @viascookies. \n\n \n\nHeather Crespin '16\n\nHeather (they
 /them) brings their experience of program coordination\, mentorship\, proj
 ect management\, and DEIB training to the team at INP. Heather joined the 
 Institute for Nonprofit Practice after working at Cornell University for s
 ix years: they spent five years in their most recent role as the Undergrad
 uate Program Coordinator for the Department of Communication. While at Cor
 nell\, Heather co-founded a peer mentorship program to connect historicall
 y-marginalized and first-generation students with older peers\, to help th
 ese students establish a social support system during their first semester
  at college. Heather is passionate about community building\, mental healt
 h\, and artistic expression of all varieties. Heather is bilingual in Engl
 ish and Spanish\, and is currently learning Brazilian Portuguese. They are
  a “foodie\,” and can often be found cooking\, baking\, and enjoying f
 ood with others in their free time\; in particular\, they love connecting 
 with their Mexican-American roots by recreating the family recipes they gr
 ew up eating. Heather also enjoys performing on stage\, meditating\, trave
 ling\, watching movies\, snuggling with their rescue dog Zelda Sayre\, rea
 ding\, and spending time outside enjoying nature. Heather received their B
 achelor of Arts in Culture and Communication from Ithaca College\, where t
 hey studied Spanish\, social justice theory\, and performance art.\n\n \n\
 nJhonny Perez '18\n\nAfter completing high school\, Jhonny was admitted in
 to the Higher Educational Opportunity Program (HEOP) at Ithaca College. Du
 ring his time at IC\, Jhonny played for Bombers Baseball for two seasons a
 nd was active in the Office of State Grants (now Office of Access\, Opport
 unity\, and Achievement). Continuing his passion for PD\, Jhonny was eager
  to serve as a Peer Career Advisor in the Office of Career Services (now C
 enter for Career Exploration and Development) for his two final two years 
 at IC. Jhonny took advantage of all that IC had to offer\, including netwo
 rking opportunities\, an internship at the New York Red Bulls\, studying a
 broad in Dublin\, and completion of an IC-NYC semester. Upon graduation fr
 om IC\, Jhonny joined Convene\, a company that supported his career aspira
 tions\, and more importantly\, the values with which he aligned. After the
  pandemic\, Jhonny was looking to make more of an impact in his everyday w
 ork. In his work at his high school alma mater\, Jhonny not only connects 
 young men to opportunities at Salisbury School\, he also coaches the baske
 tball and baseball teams\, serves as a dorm parent\, and collaborates with
  Salisbury’s DEI office. Jhonny values this ability to change the lives 
 of many students and their families from around the nation and globally.\n
 \n \n\nOmar Stoute '17\n\nAfter earning his Bachelors of Science in Commun
 ication Management Design | Corporate from the Park School of Communicatio
 ns\, Omar entered the HR Compliance world to explore his passion for enfor
 cing equity. In addition to Omar's current work as an Equity & Title IX In
 vestigator with Cornell University\, he is the Vice-Chairman of Family & C
 hildren's Services of Ithaca and President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity I
 nc\, Iota Iota Lambda Chapter.
