MLK Celebration Week: MLK Scholars Civil Rights Presentation (Leading in a Diverse World)

Annually, the first-year students within the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Program at Ithaca College enroll in a Civil Rights Seminar. This class is designed to help our first-year scholars gain foundational understanding of social justice. A unique aspect of the seminar is attending the annual Civil Rights Tour. Scholars had the opportunity to learn from social activists who supported efforts during the Civil Rights Era. In combination with their seminar, and the experiences during the Civil Rights Tour, the first-year MLK Scholars will present on ways we can revive the spirit of the Civil Rights Era to meet the needs of the current social justice movement.

Presented by the First-Year MLK Scholars:

Johani Amezquita Argueta, Khari Bolden, Kendal Burno, Zoe Gainer, Tariq Gambari, Amanuel Harvey, Sofia Lopez, Ashlynn Richardson, and Alexis Troncone
