Jesse Eisenberg will serve as the 2025 Park Distinguished Visitor. Eisenberg is an Academy Award-nominated actor, writer, and director best known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. His extensive film credits also include Zombieland, Now You See Me, and The Squid and the Whale. In addition to his on-screen work, Eisenberg is an accomplished playwright and author, with several published works and Off-Broadway productions to his name.
Eisenberg made his directorial debut with When You Finish Saving the World, which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and screened at Cannes. His second directorial feature, A Real Pain, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. It went on to receive critical acclaim, earning him a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay and an Academy Award nomination. The film was also named one of the top ten films of 2024 by both the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review. Eisenberg is currently preparing to direct his third film, an untitled musical comedy starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, for which he is also writing original music.
The Park Distinguished Visitor Series brings influential figures in media and communications to campus to engage with students, faculty, and the broader campus community. Eisenberg joins an inspiring roster of past Distinguished Visitors including Chasing Ice and The Social Dilemma director Jeff Orlowski, champion athlete and television personality Laila Ali, and Academy Award-winning actor and gender equity advocate Geena Davis.
