DESCRIPTION:Dr. Christin Schillinger\, hailed as a “soloist\, teacher\, and
  force of nature” by The Double Reed\, is celebrated for her mastery of the
  avant-garde and her dedication to expanding the audience for contemporary 
 music and the bassoon. Praised for her “life and inspiration” (American Rec
 ord Guide) and her “total mastery” of the bassoon (Fanfare)\, Schillinger i
 s also a committed researcher and advocate for women in music. She founded 
 the fEMPOWER platform for female bassoonists and co-founded the LIMITLESS C
 ollective\, an all-female chamber ensemble.\n\n \n\nA faculty member at Ith
 aca College\, Schillinger leads “Ithaca Bassooniversity” and has collaborat
 ed with numerous composers to premiere new works. She has released several 
 solo albums\, including Bassoon Unbounded (2018)\, and authored a highly re
 spected book on bassoon reed-making.\n\n \n\nCo-sponsored by New York Women
  Composers and in collaboration with other faculty members\, this recital p
