Muller Chapel Gathering Hall
The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Muller Chapel Present: Creative Faith: A series of guest artists who will share their work at the crossroads of creative expression and spirituality.
This first of this series will be:
Scattered: A Remembrance of a Displaced Palestinian Lineage
in which composer and instrumentalist Huda Asfour draws from her family’s archive in a multimedia telling of forgotten Palestinian stories. Join us for a night where the bounds between lived history, spiritual practice, and creative expression are blurred as we explore their crossroads in Muller Chapel. Refreshments and discussion to follow.
Muller Chapel, December 2nd, 2025, 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
Huda is a firm believer in transcending boundaries, evident in her roles as a musician and educator. Her musical journey began early in conservatories in Tunisia and Palestine, culminating in collaborations worldwide. With two studio albums, "Mars... Back and Forth" (2011) and "Kouni" (2018), Huda has also composed music for film and multimedia projects, and has collaborated and featured with musicians internationally. Currently, she's delving into the art of improvisation, with a keen focus on the intricate nuances of Arabic musical aesthetics and its interplay with language. In addition to her musical pursuits, Huda holds a B.Sc and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and is a co-founder of several initiatives such as the DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival, and the Cairo and Brooklyn improv orchestras.
