You Can Help A Student: Mental Health Training (Staff)
Please join the library team to be trained in the You Can Help a Student JED Mental Health training. This training will help equip staff with information about mental health, including suicide, and provide skills and tools to intervening to help support students. The training is open to all Ithaca College staff, with a maximum capacity of 30 participants. Participants will gain the following knowledge:
- Understand current college student mental health trends
- Understand your role in supporting students
- Identify signs of distress in students and learn how to engage in conversation with students
- Discuss on and off-campus resources available to students
You Can Help a Student is facilitated by Ithaca College JED Campus trainers that have received training from the JED Foundation and the JED Campus Committee. The JED Campus Committee aims to train as many staff, students and faculty as possible, so we can all work together to improve mental wellness on campus.
