About this Event
Join the LGBTQ Center for an interactive and reflective workshop exploring how tattoos can serve as a form of self-expression, identity, and affirmation. Through temporary tattoos and creative design, participants are invited to think about what it means to feel at home in their bodies and how art can support that process.
Attendees will have the opportunity to create and apply temporary tattoos using a variety of styles and techniques. Explore different tattoo motifs such as American Traditional, Ignorant styles, death-centric imagery, floral and nature-based designs, and more. Tattoo markers will also be available for freehand designs, allowing for personalized and spontaneous creativity. Both linework and color tattoo options will be available.
In addition to the hands-on experience, this workshop will include conversation and learning around tattoos as an accessible form of gender affirmation, as well as the cultural significance, history, and reclamation of tattooing practices across communities.
This event is open to all experience levels. Whether you are deeply familiar with tattoo culture or simply curious, you are welcome to participate, reflect, and create in a supportive and affirming environment.
Important Note:
Please wear clothing that does not need to be removed for tattoo placement.
